Day 1: Guiyang – Kaili – Xijiang Miao Village (Lunch)
Your private guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in Guiyang and drive to Kaili, the cultural center of the Miao people in southeastern Guizhou. The journey takes approximately 2.5 hours.
Upon arrival, continue to Xijiang Miao Village, one of the largest and most famous Miao villages in China. Spend the day exploring this remarkable hillside village and discovering the traditional culture and daily life of the Miao people.
As you walk along the village paths, you will see layers of traditional wooden houses built on the hillsides, with the Baishui River winding through the valley below. Several traditional wind-and-rain bridges cross the river and connect different parts of the village.
For lunch, enjoy local Miao cuisine and discover some of the distinctive flavors of Guizhou. During your visit, you may also have the opportunity to see traditional Miao costumes, handicrafts, folk songs and dances, depending on the day’s local activities.
As the day goes on, the appearance of Xijiang changes with the light. During the day, the wooden houses stand out against the green mountains, while in the evening, thousands of lights gradually illuminate the hillsides, creating one of the most memorable views of Xijiang Miao Village.
In the evening, enjoy some free time to walk around the village and appreciate its beautiful night scenery.

Day 2: Xijiang – Jidao Miao Village – Upper Langde Miao Village – Guiyang (Lunch)
After breakfast, leave Xijiang and visit two traditional Miao villages near Kaili: Jidao and Upper Langde. These villages offer a quieter and more intimate experience of Miao culture and rural life.
First, visit Jidao Miao Village, located about 20 km southeast of Kaili. Known for its peaceful atmosphere and traditional way of life, Jidao is surrounded by green hills and rural landscapes. Take a walk through the village and learn about the history, customs and legends of the local Miao community.
Explore the traditional wooden houses, old granaries and ancient trees, and discover some of the village’s distinctive cultural sites. The relatively tranquil setting makes Jidao a pleasant place to experience everyday life away from the larger tourist crowds.
Continue to Upper Langde Miao Village, about 30 km from Kaili. Surrounded by green mountains and built beside a clear stream, the village is known for its well-preserved traditional Miao architecture and vibrant folk culture.
Upon arrival, you may experience the traditional “blocking-the-way wine” ceremony, a local Miao custom used to welcome visitors. Depending on local arrangements, villagers may greet guests with rice wine, songs and other traditional performances.
Walk through the village to see traditional Miao-style stilt houses and listen to Miao folk songs. You will also have free time to explore the stone-paved lanes, courtyards and peaceful surroundings at your own pace.
After the visit, your guide and driver will take you back to Guiyang. Your 2-day Kaili Miao village tour ends upon arrival in Guiyang.
