Located 163 kilometers away from Chongqing, the general term of "Dazu Grottoes " refers to all the cliffs and rocks carvings in Dazu County. 75 spots of cliff carvings and grottoes composed of more than 60000 statues and over 100000 Chinese characters of inscriptions and epigraphs are well protected .
The work of Dazu grottoes and carvings began in 650 A.D of the Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D), and had continued until Ming (1368-1644 A.D) and Qing (1644-1911 A.D) dynasties. It enjoys equal popularity with Dunhuang frescoes and forms the trilogy with Yungang and Longmen Grottoes. In 1999, UNESCO listed Dazu Stone Carvings as a world cultural heritage site.

At 8:00 am, your guide will meet you at your hotel lobby, ferry terminal, or airport and begin your Chongqing sightseeing adventure.
Your first stop is the People’s Great Hall of Chongqing, one of the city’s most iconic architectural landmarks. Completed in 1954, this magnificent building was designed to commemorate China’s victory in the War of Resistance and the establishment of the new government. With its impressive traditional Chinese architectural style, it has been recognized as one of the top ten classic architectures of 20th-century Asia.
Continue to the Chongqing Stilwell Museum (Flying Tigers Memorial), a historic site related to the Second World War. The museum was once used as an important residence and reception place for VIP guests during the war against Fascism, and today it introduces the history and international cooperation of that period.
After the museum visit, enjoy an authentic Chongqing Hot Pot lunch, one of the city’s most famous culinary experiences. Known for its spicy broth, rich flavors, and unique dining culture, Chongqing hot pot is a must-try experience for visitors who want to discover the true taste of the mountain city.
In the afternoon, visit Ciqikou Ancient Town, a historic neighborhood dating back over a thousand years. Originally famous for porcelain production, Ciqikou preserves traditional buildings, old stone streets, local snacks, handicrafts, and folk customs, offering a glimpse into the lifestyle of old Chongqing.
Your final stop is Eling Park, one of the best viewpoints in Chongqing. Located on the highest point of the city center, the park provides a spectacular panoramic view of Chongqing’s mountain landscape, rivers, bridges, and modern skyline.
After sightseeing, your guide will transfer you back to your hotel.
