Day 1: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park – Yuanjiajie – Yangjiajie – Tianzi Mountain
In the morning, head to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, one of the main scenic areas of the UNESCO-listed Wulingyuan Scenic Area. Take the Bailong Sky Elevator up to Yuanjiajie, where you will walk along the mountain trails and admire the spectacular sandstone pillars rising dramatically from the valleys.
Yuanjiajie is home to some of Zhangjiajie’s most famous landscapes, including the Southern Sky Column, a towering sandstone peak often associated with the floating mountains depicted in the movie Avatar.
Continue to Yangjiajie, another spectacular area known for its dramatic cliffs, peaks and deep valleys. Enjoy views of the distinctive rock formations, including the impressive Natural Great Wall.
In the afternoon, continue to Tianzi Mountain, where a series of scenic viewpoints offer panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. The landscape is particularly atmospheric when mist and clouds drift between the mountains.
Descend the mountain by cable car and continue to the Ten-Mile Natural Gallery, a picturesque valley surrounded by towering sandstone peaks. Take the sightseeing train one way and walk back along the valley trail to enjoy the scenery at a more leisurely pace.
After the tour, return to your hotel and rest.
Overnight in Wulingyuan
Day 2: Huangshizhai – Golden Whip Stream – Departure
Today, continue exploring the spectacular landscapes of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park.
In the morning, take the cable car up to Huangshizhai (Yellow Stone Village), one of the park’s classic viewpoints. A local saying goes, “If you have not visited Huangshizhai, you have not truly visited Zhangjiajie.” Follow the scenic walking trails and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding sandstone peaks. When weather conditions are favorable, the mountains may appear to float above a sea of mist and clouds.
After descending from Huangshizhai, continue to Golden Whip Stream, one of the most beautiful valleys in Zhangjiajie. Follow the peaceful walking trail alongside the clear stream, surrounded by towering cliffs, lush vegetation and distinctive rock formations.
After the visit, transfer to your hotel, Zhangjiajie Airport or Zhangjiajie railway station according to your departure schedule.
