Zhangjiajie is a prefecture-level city in the northwestern part of Hunan province in China, Wulingyuan Scenic Area is here. It was chosen as a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1992.
The area is comprised of three major parklands-Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Suoxiyu Nature Reserve and Tianzi (Son of Heaven) Mountain Nature Reserve, in possession of strange-shaped peaks and rocks, the hidden valleys, the wandering waters and the limestone caves. The environment of Pandora planet in famous hollywood movie Avandar is mainly come from the beautiful peaks of Zhangjiajie.

The new name of Zhangjiajie City was adopted in 1994, after the National Forest Park in the Wulingyuan Scenic Area in order to give it more prominence and after this site had been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992. The National Forest Park had been given the name of Zhangjiajie after the name of a small village located within its bounds, and now a popular tourist attraction within the park.

Day 1: Baofeng Lake – Huanglong Cave (Lunch)
In the morning, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Baofeng Lake, a beautiful mountain lake located in the Wulingyuan Scenic Area of Zhangjiajie. Surrounded by dramatic sandstone peaks and lush forests, the lake is known for its clear water and peaceful natural scenery.
Enjoy a relaxing boat ride on the lake and admire the spectacular landscape reflected on the water. The combination of tranquil waters, forested mountains and towering peaks makes Baofeng Lake one of the scenic highlights of the Wulingyuan area.
After lunch, continue to Huanglong Cave, one of the most impressive karst caves in the Zhangjiajie region. The cave system is approximately 7.5 kilometers long and reaches a vertical height of about 140 meters. It features four levels with an extraordinary underground landscape of stalactites, stalagmites, stone columns, underground streams and spacious chambers.
The sightseeing route through Huanglong Cave is approximately 3.2 kilometers long and takes around two hours to explore. Follow the walkways and passages deep into the cave and discover its spectacular formations illuminated along the route.
After the visit, your guide and driver will transfer you back to your hotel.
