In the racing festival the brave Tibetan horse riders will show the audience their skills of horseback speed riding, shooting, picking scarlet on the fast running horseback, etc. It is also a big time of fashion shows. Exotic adventure tour on east Tibetan plateau covered Wolong, Danba, Ganzi, Dege, Baiyu, Xinlong, Litang, Kangding. Tourist will visit and many beautiful snow mountains, various Tibetan monastery, villages, and experience a unique cultural tours of horse riding in Litang.
D1 - July 24th, 2026 Arrive in Chengdu
Arrive in Chengdu by train or flight, and then check in the meeting hotels. Meet with your tour guide for the trip preparation in the evening.
D2- July 25th, 2026 Chengdu - Wolong - Danba Driving 320 kms, 6 hrs
Today you will head to Danba in Tibetan plateau via Wolong and Rilong, and enjoy the landscape of mountain en route. And in Wolong you will drop a tour in Panda Garden to enjoy many lovely creature of panda bears. And you will also have a wide view of the 4 Girls’ Peaks at the view point of Balangshan Mountain.
Arrive at Danba in the late afternoon, and you will stay night in Zhonglu Tibetan Village, where you will stay in local Tibetan style hotels and enjoy the beautiful Jiarong Tibetan house and their unique Towers.
D3-July 26th, 2026 Danba- Daowu - Ganzi Driving 330 kms 6.1 hrs
Today you will head to the hub of North Kham area, Ganzi city along beautiful No. 317 state road. A long the road you will enter the deep land of Tibetan plateau gradually and pass by quite a few big mountains, grassland land, and Tibetan monastery, such as the Yala Snow Mountain (4200 meters in sea level, ) , Longdeng wide grassland, Huiyuan Monastery, etc. It is a road of photo gallery. Arrive in Ganzi city in the late afternoon, stay night in local hotel.
D4-July 27th, 2026 Ganzi - Dege - Baiyu Driving 240kms 4hrs
The photo gallery will continue today. Firstly will be the beautiful Yulonglatuo Lake and mountain near Manigange. And then the Buddhism Printing School in Dege city, and then the Jinsha River Valley. Monastery here are more large and beautiful, Gelupa Section, Ningma Sections, etc, so you have more chance to explore them en route.
Arrive in Baiyu county in the late afternoon. If time allowed, you can drop a tour in Baiyu Monastery in the late afternoon.
D5-July 28th, 2026 Baiyu – Xinlong Driving 257kms 4.5hrs
Your tours in East Tibet will show you its amazing beautify by the Red Mountian of Xinjiang and the sparse Chaqinsongduo nature reserve in Baiyu. If policy allowed, you can even drop a tour in Yading Monastery, with its over 10 thousands’ nuns it has remained as one of the largest and most mysterious monastery in Tibet.
Arrive in Xinlong city in the late afternoon, night in local hotel.
D6- July 29th, 2026 Xinlong - Litang Driving 151Kms 2.5 hrs
In the morning you will head to Toka monastery in the half mountain on the way to Litang. The magnificent golden monastery are just sitting on the bank of the cuoka lake. In the afternoon arrive in Litang city, which is called the high town in the world due to its sea level of 4100 meters.
Stay night in local hotel, and prepare for the horse riding festival of next day.
D7- July 30th, 2026 Litang Horse Riding Race Festival
Enjoy the grand ceremony of Litang Horse Racing and Riding Festival whole day. It is not only a horse riding festival actually, it is also a happy carnival of Tibetan included the marvellous traditional fashion show and folk trade expo. Of course the breathtaking moment will be watching their horse riding races. The races fall into many styles lasting a week, such as speeding riding, shooting on the back of horse, horse trekking races, pick-up scarlet from horse back, etc. You can’t enjoy all of them due to time’s reason, what to see, depend on their schedule.
D8- July 31st, 2026 Litang – Kangding Driving 270 Kms, 5 hrs.
Continue to watch the horse riding competition in the morning. In the afternoon you will head to Kangding city, the capital of Ganzi Tibetan prefecture. Enjoy the great waving mountain en route, and you will descend the Tibetan plateau gradually. Arrive in beautiful Kangding city in the late afternoon. Night on local hotel.
D9 Aug 1st , 2026 Kangding- Chengdu Driving 282Kms 4hrs
In the morning you will back Chengdu by 4 hours’ driving on the express way. Arrive in Chengdu in the afternoon. Your tour then end in Chengdu.
And you can transit to other destination by train or flights in the late afternoon or evening. Try to reserve the transport in the evening in case.
Attention:
The date of Litang horse riding race festival is an estimated date according to past years, which need to be double checked with local government in mid of 2025. Local government has changed the exact date from August 1st - 7th in the past to around July 31st after the pandemic breakdown.

Our prices included:
1. Entrance tickets: The tickets of Wolong Panda Garden, Dege Buddhism Printing School.
2. Guide. An English speaking guide will be provided, who will accompany you from the start of tour to end of tour.
3. Private Transfers during tour. Our guide and driver will pick-up you at your hotel on time and drop-off you after the tours. And an air-conditioned vehicle will be provided during the tour.
4.Hotel. Provide 8 nights’ hotel, star level hotels in Chengdu and Kangding, Danba will be local Tibetan style guesthouse, Ganzi, Baiyu, Xinlong and Litang will be local hotel around 3 star level or better. Every two people share one room. Breakfast are included in the hotels.
