Danba
Danba is a small county in the mountain valley whose residents are Gyarong Tibetans, or farmers living in a mild climate. This area of Tibetan-speaking hamlets perched stunningly on 8,000-foot-high mountainsides that loom over the town of Danba, has long been a way station on a circuit through the country's southwest, which is home to some of China's most exotic travel destinations.

danbaToday, the gorgeous hillsides here buzz with activity: the felling of trees to build the distinctive Tibetan houses, with their maroon and white trim, which are nowadays put into service as guest lodges, and the smoke-belching, horn-blowing buses carrying tourists who arrive each month in ever greater numbers.
The takeoff has been so pronounced, in fact, that some of the villagers of Danba are wondering whether their success might not one day soon recall another fairy tale, the killing of the goose that laid the golden egg. But that is perhaps getting ahead of the story.

This settlement's break with timeless isolation came in 1998, when a mysterious adventurer from Hong Kong drifted through the area, making his way up the rugged slopes that overlook Danba and discovering this village and a remarkable local family.

danba Tibetan"Lamu" is the name of what seems like 1/3 of Tibetan women in this area. Another third seems to be named "Zhuoma." "Da Lamu" means "Big Lamu." The "Da" (Big) is added to differentiate her from her little sister "Xiao Lamu" (Little Lamu).

There were three young women in the household, already known locally as the “three beautiful sisters,” including one who had recently won third place in a regional beauty contest. If that didn't get the traveler's attention, it soon became clear that this was no ordinary family, and that these were no ordinary sisters.

In a region of poor subsistence farmers, where many peasants speak little Chinese and few girls go far in school, the three sisters had been raised by farsighted parents to speak Mandarin, and they were full of spunk.

Zhonglu Tibetan Village

Zhonglu Tibetan Village in Danba is located in the northeast of Danba County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province, with an altitude of 2,100 meters and a total of more than 3,600 people. White Tibetan houses and temples with golden roofs are faintly visible under the blue sky,  with colorful colors but no sense of disorder.

The ancient watchtowers have long history in Zhonglu Tibetan Village, the simple and grand adult ceremony, various forms of Pot Zhuang Dance, solemn ancient Tibetan opera, gorgeous and gorgeous Jiarong Tibetan clothes, interesting custom of top-hanging shirts, steaming buttered tea and crispy steamed buns are all so vivid and amazing viewpoint or Tibetan custom you can visit there. Devout believers in Tibetan Buddhism, and nature worship and totem worship can be seen everywhere.
Compared with the reputation of Jiaju Tibetan Village, Zhonglu Tibetan Village is more quiet, which makes people feel like walking in fairyland. Especially in autumn, the Zhonglu Tibetan village is full of melons and fruits, and the trees are full of heavy pomegranates, pears and apples. Especially when the dusk is coming, the whole house is shrouded in the afterglow of the setting sun.

Suopo watchtower
Suopo watchtowers are located on the roadside from Kangding to Danba along Dadu River, about five kilometers away from Danba county. "Suopo" means "Mongolian" in Tibetan. It is said that a large number of Mongols used to graze here in ancient times, hence being noted.
There are 84 watchtowers in Suopo, where ancient watchtowers are concentrated in Danba and even the whole world, including pentagonal watchtowers. Its value is self-evident.
There are not only watchtowers in the scenic spot, but also a Jiarong ancient watchtower folk museum. Against the blue sky and white clouds, the towers are majestic and spectacular. It has withstood wind and rain, war baptism and various tests for even a thousand years.
Looking up, under the blue sky and white clouds, the towering ancient towers are tall and straight, and looking down, the hidden houses in the green fields are in harmony with the towering ancient towers.

Travel Tips
1.Photographers who want to photograph Suopo watchtower should be at dusk, where all watchtowers are bathed in the sunset glow with golden color.
2.When you have more free time, you can go into the village to touch the ancient watchtower and feel the vicissitudes of the ancient watchtower.
3.When visiting the tower, you need to use the one-legged ladder. You must be careful.
