Jiuzhaigou，or Jiuzhai Valley, got its name from Nine Tibetan villages in the valley. It is located in the deep mountain of Mingshan in the edge of east Tibetan plateau. The 40 Km long valley runs North-South ward with the highest peak of 4764 meter. Jiuzhaigou has rich recourse of plants and animals, the most important of all, the natural view are very special. Hundreds of beautiful snow mountain lakes, many of grand waterfalls, dense virgin forest, precious animals and snow peaks surrounding, all built up the beautiful and magic nature reserve. In 1992 it was accepted by the UNESCO as “the World Natural Heritage List”. It is also called fairyland on the earth.
Huanglong National park is also called "Se'ercuo" in Tibetan language meaning the golden lake. Local Tibetans believe the colored ponds of Huanglong and the sacred mountain Xuebaoding are an indivisible integrity; the shining colored ponds being tributes to the sacred mountain. Secondly, Huanglong is so called Yellow Dragon Park, all because of its fascinating landscapes and respectful temples and monasteries.
It used to be difficult for tourists due to the poor transportation of Jiuzhaigou, but now things are much easier due to the bullet train and flights. D1 CHENGDU > SONGPAN > HUANGLONG > JIUZHAIGOU (Lunch, Dinner ) Driving 2 hours
Experience a comfortable high-speed train journey from Chengdu to Songpan Station in the morning. You just check in with your eticket at Chengdu East Railway Station with your passport. Upon arrival, and then head to Huanglong National Park, where you'll explore its stunning travertine pools and colorful landscapes, aided by a shuttle and upward cable car.
And then head to Jiuzhaigou in the late afternoon. En route, enjoy the Tibetan plateau with villages and snow-capped mountains.

There are a few flights between Chengdu and Jiuzhaigou, and you can also take flights. Some times, it is also a good choise to connect your time and transfer flight.

D1 CHENGDU > HUANGLONG > JIUZHAIGOU (Lunch, Dinner ) Driving 2 hoursOnce arrive at airport, the local guide and driver will take you to Huanglong National Park, where you'll explore its stunning travertine pools and colorful landscapes, aided by a shuttle and upward cable car. You will start a hiking tour of 3 hours, 1 hour hiking from cable car of 3070 meters to Huanglong Monastery of 3558 meters, and then 2 hours down. In the late afternoon, you will head to Jiuzhaigou valley.

Option3: 4 Days Jiuzhaigou Tour with round vehicle
Overland tours to Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong has been the main way of tours for long time. Tourist can enjoy the mountain landscape and ethnic minority of Tibetan and Qiang people en route. And since we have 4 days, so drop a tour in Dujiangyan Dam is also a good choice if you don't mind the long time's driving.
Day 1 Chengdu - Jiuzhaigou (L, D) 420Km Driving 6.5 hrs
Today after breakfast, your tour guide will pick you up in your hotel, then drive to Jiuzhaigou valley, enjoy the mountain landscape en route. You could enjoy the beautiful scenery en route. After arrival at Jiuzhaigou, have a rest in your hotel.
Day 1 Jiuzhaigou Valley (B, D)
Today, get up early, and throw yourself into the fairyland Jiuzhaigou Valley. In Jiuzhaigou valley, many beautiful lakes, waterfalls, rivers and virgin forest are scattered. Local Tibetan granted each of them romantic names, such as Panda Sea, Pearl Sea, Long Sea, etc, and these lakes shining like jade, pearl in the mountain and forest. Jiuzhaigou valley could be the best gift from our nature, and it deserves the fame of Fairy Land on the earth! Your guide will introduce unique scenic to you.
Day 2 Jiuzhaigou- Huanglong - Maoxian (B, L, D) 300Kms, driving 5.5 hrs
After breakfast, your tour guide will escort you to visit the Huanglong National Park after 2 hours’ driving. You will take cable car up the mountain, and then start a hiking tour of 3 hours. You will walk from gate of 3070 meters to Huanglong Monastery of 3558 meters, and then down the mountain. Just enjoy the beautiful alphine mountain forest and colorful calcified lakes en route. In the late afternoon you will continue 3 hours’ driving to Maoxian city. Night in local hotel.
Day 4 Maoxian - Dujiangyan - Chengdu (B,L) (190KM, 3hrs)
After breakfast, you will explore the ethnic Qiang People’s village in Maoxian, and then head to Dujiangyan Dam.
Dujiangyan Dam is the most famous ancient Dam of China with 2000 years’ history. It is amazing to know the wisdom of ancient Chinese making full use of the landscape.
Then drive back to Chengdu in the late afternoon. End of tour.
