Ciqikou Old Town
Ciqikou is an old town which keeps the old structure and respecting the local culture. Tourists can feel strong atmosphere of local life.Ciqikou ancient town is located in the northeast of Shapingba District, Chongqing city, No.1, Cixian South Street by the Jialing River.5 kilometers away from Shapingba center in the north, 14 kilometers away from Chongqing center, and 3 kilometers away from Shijing slope in the south. The ancient town covers a total area of 325,000 square meters.
Ciqikou ancient town, built in the reign of Emperor Xianping of Song Dynasty in 11th century, developed rapidly in the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China; after 1958, with the gradual depression of river transportation, the ancient town declined; at the end of the 20th century, with the tourism trend of ancient town, Ciqikou ancient town developed again. Old town similarity does kill people’s interest and make them languished sometimes.
