Xining is located on the eastern edge of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the upper reaches of Huangshui River. It is the political, economic, scientific and technological, cultural and traffic center of Qinghai Province with an average altitude of over 2,200 meters (about 7,217 feet). The activities of human beings in this region can be traced to 2,100 years ago.
During the Western and Eastern Han Dynasties, owing to its developing agriculture, Xining was paid more attention due to its economic and martial significance. As well as being the important hinge between the central plains and the western part of China in ancient time, Xining was the most common passing channel of the famous Silk Road. Until now, it is still the only road by which to enter the hinterland of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
Qinghai Lake is a saline lake situated in the province of Qinghai, and is the largest lake in China. Qinghai and Kokonor both mean "Blue/Teal Sea" in Standard Mandarin and Mongolian. It is located about 100 kilometers (62 mi) west of the provincial capital of Xining at 3,205 m (10,515 feet) above sea level in a depression of the Tibetan Plateau in the traditional Tibetan province of Amdo. Twenty-three rivers and streams empty into Qinghai Lake, most of them seasonal. Five permanent streams provide 80% of total influx.
Ta'er Lamasery derives its name from the Golden-roofed Lamasery's silver tower built in memory of Zongkaba,the founder of Huangjiao (the YellowSection). The silver tower is called 'Gunbenxianbalin', inTibetan, meaning "a Maitreya Lamasery where 100000 lions roar at a Buddha Portrait."Ta'er Lamasery is located in the Lianhuashan (Lotus) Mountain Valley in the southwest ofLusha'er Township in Huangzhong County.It is the most important sight-seeing sport of Qinghai and one of the cultural relics under thestate protection

D1 Qinghai Lake
After picking you up at the airport you will go to visit the Qinghai Lake in two hours' driving. It means "Blue sea" and like a pear-shape. It located in the northwestern of Qinghai Province. Qinghai Lake is not only China's largest inland lake but also China's largest saltwater lake. Its altitude is about 3193m high. It is about 104 km from east to west and 62 km from north to south. The lake’s perimeter is about 360 km and has an area of 4200 square kilometers. It is surrounding by mountains which are about 3600 ~ 5000 meters high. The lake is 200 km far away from Xining. The main supply of water is from river. The bird‘s resource is also rich in Qinghai Lake. Its records add up to 222 kinds of bird. It also has a lot of rare fishes. Qinghai lake belongs to the multi-ethnic region. In 2005, Qinghai Lake was named "China's most beautiful Great Lakes". In 2007 it was named the national AAAA level scenic spots.
After visiting Qinghai lake , you will drive to Taer monastery . it was located at Xiahe County . And you will spend this night at Xiahe County .

D2 Taer temple
You second day in Qinghai starts by visiting the Taer temple. It located 25 kilometers in the southwest of Xining. It is the Buddhist center of northwest China and covers an area of 450,000 square meters. The temple is one of the biggest Chinese Buddhist temples. It is a famous tourist destination of Qinghai . After visiting Taer temple , you will leave for Tongren county . You will spend this night here .
You second day in Qinghai starts by visiting the Taer temple. It located 25 kilometers in the southwest of Xining. It is the Buddhist center of northwest China and covers an area of 450,000 square meters. The temple is one of the biggest Chinese Buddhist temples. It is a famous tourist destination of Qinghai . After visiting Taer temple , you will leave for Tongren county . You will spend this night here .
D3 Wutun Temple
Pick you at the hotel and go to the Wutun temple. It is located in Tongren country. It has more than 600 years history. The temple has a large collection of artworks. With a strong artistic atmosphere, the temple enjoyed a high reputation in the tourism field. The temple has more precious relics than Qinghai’s other temples.
Then we will stay here for this night.
Pick you at the hotel and go to the Wutun temple. It is located in Tongren country. It has more than 600 years history. The temple has a large collection of artworks. With a strong artistic atmosphere, the temple enjoyed a high reputation in the tourism field. The temple has more precious relics than Qinghai’s other temples.
Then we will stay here for this night.
D4 Xining Mosque
Pick up you at hotel and we will go to the Xining Mosque. It is the largest and the best preserved mosque in Xining. It is one of the four biggest mosques in Northwest China. The Mosque has been built about 900 years from now on. After several reconstruction, It forming what it is today. The total area is about 6000 square meters. The Mosque combines a variety of architectural styles. It is a beautiful landscape of the ancient city – Xining. It has classical architecture and ethnic style features. There are more than 7000 people in here every day. There is a buddhism College in the mosque. It is the highest institution of Qinghai Islam.
