Qiemo County is situated on the southeast edge of Tarim Basin and north of Aerjin Mountain, adjacent to Ruoqiang County on the east, Minfeng on the west, Tibet on the south and west and its north protruding into Taklamakan Desert. Qiemo is about 1270 km south of Urumqi.Qiemo Old City is about 6 km southwest of the Qiemo’s city center at the altitude of 1273, a relics site of desertification without any vegetation.
