Erqi Memorial Tower
Located in Erqi Square in the center of Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, the Erqi Memorial Tower is one of the most iconic landmarks of the city. Built in 1971, the tower was constructed to commemorate the Erqi Strike, an important labor movement that took place on February 7, 1923.
The memorial represents an important chapter in modern Chinese history and has become a popular cultural attraction for visitors exploring Zhengzhou.
Unique Twin-Tower Architecture
The Erqi Memorial Tower stands 63 meters high and has 14 floors. It is also known as the “Twin Tower” because its structure consists of two connected five-sided (quintangular) sections, creating a distinctive and memorable architectural style.
Inside the tower, a spiral staircase leads visitors to the top floor, where they can enjoy a panoramic view of Zhengzhou City. From the observation area, visitors can admire the modern cityscape and experience one of the best viewpoints in central Zhengzhou.
