Day 1: Arrival in Ningbo | Tianyi Pavilion – Nantang Old Street – Ningbo Old Bund
Upon your arrival in Ningbo at noon, your guide will greet you and begin your journey with a visit to Tianyi Pavilion, the oldest existing private library in China. As the locals say, "A trip to Ningbo is not complete without visiting Tianyi Pavilion." This cultural treasure offers a fascinating insight into China's rich literary heritage. Continue to Nantang Old Street, where traditional architecture, stone-paved lanes, charming canals, and local delicacies showcase the unique charm of a classic Jiangnan water town. In the evening, explore the historic Ningbo Old Bund, one of China's earliest treaty ports. Opened more than 20 years before Shanghai's famous Bund, it has been a thriving commercial harbor since the Tang and Song Dynasties. Today, its beautifully preserved European-style buildings, influenced by British, French, German, Dutch, and other architectural styles, create a unique blend of Eastern and Western culture.
Day 2: Ningbo – Mount Putuo | Western Heaven Scenic Area – Puji Temple
After breakfast, travel by coach across the spectacular Zhoushan Cross-Sea Bridge to Zhujiajian Pier, where you will board a ferry to Mount Putuo, one of China's Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains and revered as the "Buddhist Kingdom on the Sea." Upon arrival, visit the scenic Western Heaven Scenic Area, famous for its natural beauty and profound Buddhist atmosphere. Highlights include Guanyin Ancient Cave, the legendary Two Turtles Listening to Buddhist Scriptures, the enormous Pantuo Stone, Meifu Nunnery, where visitors traditionally touch the Buddha's feet for blessings, and the peaceful Heart-shaped Stone, believed to bring inner calm and tranquility. In the afternoon, visit Puji Temple, the largest and most important temple on Mount Putuo. Day 3: Mount Putuo | South China Sea Guanyin Statue – Departure
This morning, visit the magnificent South China Sea Guanyin Statue, the iconic landmark of Mount Putuo. Standing 33 meters (108 feet) tall and facing the sea, the golden statue symbolizes compassion, wisdom, and peace, attracting millions of Buddhist pilgrims and visitors each year. After your visit, take the ferry back to Zhujiajian, then transfer by private vehicle to Ningbo.
