Shangri-la overland:we will explore the Shangri-La in the East Tibet plateau. In this tour, Snow peaks, yaks, Tibetan monasteries will jump into our sight constantly, and the highlight will be Yading National Park.

In 1933 the Britain writer James Hilton published his masterpiece The Lost Horizon.
In the exotic, mysterious and dreamlike description, he illustrated an ideal world of Shangri-la in some deep place of Tibet.
From then on, Shangri-la turned becomes a popular word through out the world. People began to search where Shangri-la is really located.
Eventually it is believed that Shangri-la is located in the East Tibet plateau with Xizang Tibetan Autonomous Administration Region, Yunnan province and Sichuan province joined.
In Shangri-la travel, we will explore the Shangri-la in the East Tibet plateau. In this tour, Snow peaks, yaks, Tibetan monasteries will jump into our sight constantly, and the highlight will be Yading National Park. The snow peaks of Chenrezigs, Chenadorje and Jampayang sit in the blue sky like three Gods supervising their territory.

Itinerary:
D1 Lijiang
Arrive in Lijiang and check in the pre-booked hotel yourself. Meet tour leader at hotel in the evening. Prepare for overland tours.
D2 Lijiang Exploration
Head for Jade Dragon Mountain in the morning, and then visit the Baisi Fresco in the afternoon.

D1 Lijiang

D2 Lijiang Exploration

D3 Lijiang / Shangri-la
In the morning head for Tiger Leaping Gorge. In this deep valley, Yangze jump down from 3000 meters to 2000 meters and soaring like a tiger. And we will drive to Shangri-la in the afternoon, visit the Songtanlin Monastery nearby.
D4 Shangri-la Exploration
Head for the Napa Lake firstly. Then visit the Mini-Potala-Songzanlin Monastery in the afternoon.
D5 Shangri-la /Xiangcheng / Daocheng
Today we will leave Yunnan and enter Sichuan. The whole day we will enjoy the landscape of big mountains as Big Snow Mountain and Snow Mountain, pretty white Tibetan villages en route. Arrive in Daocheng in the late afternoon.
D6 Daocheng / Yading
Head for Yading in the morning. We will adore the three holy snow peaks in Yading, then hike up to the Luorong Yak Pasture and Milk lakes. Descend the mountain in the afternoon.
D7 Daocheng / Litang /Tagong
Driving all the days to enjoy the beautiful landscape en route. We will enjoy various mountains above 4000 meters, also the Grand Litang monastery; arrive in the pretty Tibetan town Tagong in the late afternoon.
D8 Tagong / Danba / Rilong
Enjoy the holy Mt Yala and wide Tagong grassland in the morning, then head for Rilong. It is a trip full of pleasure. We will visit the ancient Huiyuan Monastery, Dalai Lama used to take refuge here, and the towering Tibetan castle in Danba.
