Rongcheng Swan National Nature Reserve
Thousands of swans at Rongcheng Swan Lake ChinaLocated at the easternmost tip of the Shandong Peninsula, Rongcheng Swan National Nature Reserve is one of the most important wintering habitats for swans in China. Famous as the “Oriental Kingdom of Swans,” the reserve attracts thousands of migratory birds every year, creating one of the most spectacular wildlife scenes along China’s coastline.
From November to April, thousands of swans, wild ducks and geese migrate from Siberia, Inner Mongolia and other northern regions to spend the winter at Rongcheng Swan Lake. The peaceful lake, golden beaches and clear coastal environment provide an ideal habitat for these beautiful birds.

A Paradise for Migratory Swans
Rongcheng Swan Lake is recognized as one of the largest winter habitats for swans in the world.
Every winter, tens of thousands of migratory birds gather here, including:
* Mute swans
* Wild ducks
* Wild geese
* Other waterfowl species
The sight of thousands of white swans flying across the lake, resting on the water and searching for food creates a breathtaking natural spectacle.
Because of its large swan population and excellent ecological environment, Rongcheng has earned the reputation of the “Oriental Swan Kingdom” among visitors, experts and wildlife researchers.

Unique Coastal Wetland Landscape
Rongcheng Swan National Nature Reserve features a unique landscape where freshwater wetlands meet the sea.
A natural sand barrier, approximately 100 meters wide, separates the lake from the Yellow Sea, creating extensive beaches and coastal wetland areas.
The reserve is characterized by:
* Clear lake water
* Golden sandy beaches
* Blue skies and sea views
* Peaceful wetland scenery
This combination of lake, sea and wildlife creates a beautiful natural environment ideal for birdwatching, photography and ecological tourism.

Legend of Swan Lake
According to local legend, the origin of Swan Lake is connected with ancient Chinese stories.
It is said that Emperor Qin Shi Huang once traveled eastward in search of the elixir of immortality. During this journey, a tragic event involving his wife led to the formation of a lake from her tears.
Local people believe that the pure spirit of the story attracted beautiful swans to this peaceful land, adding a romantic cultural legend to the natural beauty of Rongcheng Swan Lake.

An Unforgettable Birdwatching Destination
With thousands of migratory swans, beautiful coastal landscapes and rich wetland ecosystems, Rongcheng Swan National Nature Reserve is one of the best places in China to experience wildlife and nature.
