Gongga Mountain - The King of Su Mountains
Gongga Mountain Nature Reserve is located in the western part of Sichuan Province, covering areas of Kangding, Luding, Jiulong and Shimian counties. Covering approximately 400,000 hectares, the reserve protects a remarkable combination of snow-covered mountains, modern glaciers, virgin forests, alpine ecosystems, rare wildlife and other natural resources.
At the heart of the reserve stands Mount Gongga, the highest mountain in Sichuan Province. Rising to 7,556 meters above sea level, it is widely known as the “King of the Mountains of Sichuan.”
