Seda Larung Gar Academy Travel Guide
Seda County (Sertar 色达县 ) is located in the northern part of the Garze (Ganzi) Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province, bordering Qinghai Province. Located approximately 15 kilometers from Seda County, Seda Larung Gar Five Sciences Buddhist Academy, also known as Wuming Buddhist Learning School or Larung Gar Buddhist Academy, is one of the most famous Tibetan Buddhist institutions in the Kham region.
Built in a mountain valley at an average altitude of around 3,900 meters, the academy features thousands of crimson-colored Tibetan wooden houses spreading across the surrounding hillsides.
