Anren Old Town
Located on the western Chengdu Plain, about 41 kilometers from Chengdu and 8 kilometers from Dayi County, Anren Ancient Town is a historic cultural destination known for its well-preserved mansions, traditional architecture, and deep connection with modern Chinese history.

History of Anren Old Town
Anren has a history of more than 1,400 years. It was established during the Tang Dynasty in 620 AD, when Anren County was created under Qiongzhou Prefecture of Jiannan Circuit.
The name “Anren” comes from the meaning of “benevolence and peace,” reflecting the traditional Chinese ideal of a peaceful and harmonious society. The county government was originally located in today’s Anren area, which gave the town its name.
In 1284 AD during the Yuan Dynasty, Anren County was abolished and the area became part of Dayi County. During the modern period, Anren became closely associated with important historical figures, including the Liu family, who produced influential military and political figures such as Liu Wenhui and Liu Xiang.
