Day 1: Kunming - Arrival
You'll begin your journey to diverse and captivating Yunnan Province from the capital city, Kunming. Upon your arrival at the Kunming International Airport or train station, meet your local tour guide and driver who'll bring you to your hotel.
If your schedule allows, you can visit the interesting Kunming City Museum where you have the chance to learn about Kunming's history and to see an exhibition of Yunnan's role in 2nd world war.
Option for the evening: if you like you can visit the Dynamic Yunnan Show in Kunming's Art Theatre – an original ethnic dance musical. It was directed by Yang Liping and has been an outstanding gain to the Chinese stages in recent years. Primitive, unsophisticated folk dances and a fresh artistic concept converge in the program, giving audiences a unique "Yunnan Impression." Sixty-two drums and 120 masks of strong ethnic characteristics are incorporated in the performance. The show starts at 20:00h every day (except at and around Spring Festival) and lasts for 1.5 hours. The show is highly recommended by Wonders Of Yunnan Travel and tripadvisor.

Overnight in Kunming
Day 2: Kunming – Luoping
In the morning, you will head to Luoping. Located 230 kilometers east of Kunming, and neighboring Guizhou and Guangxi Provinces, Luoping County is home to one of the largest plantations of Canola rapeseed flowers in Southwest China. Fields covered with golden rape stretch as far as the eye can see and form seas of yellow buds. Combined with a unique terrain dominated by a fascinating karst landscape with small basins among mountain ranges, the place boasts very unique landscape features. On top of that, majestic waterfalls can be found in the area. All of this makes Luoping a very unique attractive destination for traveling. Each February and March, the flowers in the basin of Luoping are in full bloom. Looking far, you just see golden and yellow colors stretching to the horizon while standing in a huge natural garden.
Our tour continues to explore the area called Hundred Thousand Hills (Shiwan Dashan). It is specifically interesting for photography enthusiasts: the hilly terrain offers endless photo shooting options!
We will be back at our hotel in Luoping in the late afternoon.

Day 3: Luoping Tours
You get up early today to witness how the sun rises over close Golden Rooster Hill (Jinjiling). Jinjiling offers an excellent and expansive view of the fields and hills in north-south direction. Standing on the hill in the morning, watching the white dew slowly disappearing and uncover the golden sea of flowers and the hills around jut out as islands, is an astonishing moment. A visit at Lingyi Temple on the same hill expands the sight-seeing part for today. We have breakfast afterwards and head to the Nine Dragon Waterfall which is a ten-tier waterfall, located within an hour's drive from Luoping and known as one of China's biggest and most beautiful waterfalls. We either take a cable car or hike up the hill to a viewing platform, giving view to valley and waterfall. Afterwards we walk the area and down the hill again to the biggest waterfall itself: 56 meters high and 112 meters.
You head back to Luoping again after these visits.

Day 4: Luoping – Stone Forest – Kunming
After breakfast you will head to Stone Forest on the way back to Kunming. According to an old saying it is a pity not visiting the Stone Forest while you are in Kunming. After lunch, we will have a full afternoon to visit this wonderful landscape. Enjoy the beautiful views of the sight and spend about 2-3 hours in the park.
The Yunnan Stone Forest was listed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 2007. The vast southern Chinese karst landscape is jointly composed by the sword- and pagoda-shaped karsts pillars of Yunnan's Stone Forest as well as the cone-shaped and stereoscopic pillars with its nature made bridges and crevices of the Karst Forest in Libo, Guizhou. This typical Karst physiognomy assumed shape of stone pillars and boulders which have been formed 500,000 to 300 million years ago and in total covers an area of 1,460 square kilometers. The scenic attractions in these regions enjoy great reputation, both within China and abroad.
Shilin, how the Stone Forest is called in Chinese, is located in between Kunming and Luoping. It is a very popular tourist hot spot. Due to the gigantic size of the park it is nevertheless still possible to find less visited and remote areas, especially in the winter months. Find your own way through the maze of enormous stone pillars!
Later in the afternoon you drive back to Kunming and drop you off at your hotel in Kunming.

It's time to say good-bye! We drop you off at Kunming's airport or train station where you can continue your trip according to your schedule.
