Yangshuo is surrounded by karst peaks and bordered on one side by the Li River it is easily accessible by bus or by boat from nearby Guilin. Over the years, it has become popular with foreign backpackers. Two main roads run away from the water and form the central part of the town, Chinese Street and West Street . Most foreign-oriented businesses, such as hostels, hotels, rock climbing companies, restaurants and entertainment venues, are situated on West Street.

Day 1: Guilin Arrival / Elephant Trunk Hill / Reed Flute Cave
Overnight: Guilin
Upon arrival in Guilin, your local guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. After a short rest, begin your Guilin sightseeing tour with a visit to Elephant Trunk Hill, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
Located near the confluence of the Li River and Peach Blossom River, Elephant Trunk Hill is named for its distinctive shape, which resembles an elephant drinking from the river with its trunk. It has become one of the most recognizable symbols of Guilin and offers beautiful views of the surrounding karst landscape.
Continue to Reed Flute Cave, one of Guilin’s most famous natural attractions. The cave is renowned for its spectacular karst formations, including stalactites, stalagmites, stone pillars, and stone flowers in fascinating shapes. Illuminated by colorful lights, these natural formations create an enchanting underground landscape and showcase the remarkable power of nature.
After sightseeing, return to your hotel in Guilin and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.
Day 2: Li River Cruise / Guilin – Yangshuo / West Street / Guilin
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Meet your guide at your hotel around 8:00–8:30 AM and transfer to Zhujiang Pier, arriving at approximately 9:30 AM. Board your boat for a scenic Li River Cruise to Yangshuo, which takes approximately four hours.
As you cruise downstream, enjoy spectacular views of Guilin’s classic karst landscape. Towering peaks in various shapes rise along the river, while their reflections appear on the clear water. Lush green hills, bamboo groves, traditional villages, and peaceful countryside create a breathtaking landscape that has inspired generations of Chinese artists and poets.
Lunch will be served on board during the cruise.
Disembark at Yangshuo at around 2:00 PM and spend some time exploring the famous Yangshuo West Street. Take a leisurely stroll through the lively pedestrian street, browse local shops, or relax at a café and enjoy the atmosphere.
After your visit to Yangshuo, transfer back to Guilin. Your 2-day Guilin and Yangshuo tour ends upon arrival in Guilin.
