Flower Path
Located in the scenic area of Lushan Mountain, Jiangxi Province, Flower Path (Huajing) is a charming cultural attraction famous for its beautiful flowers, peaceful landscapes, and connection with the renowned Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi (772–846).
According to legend, this picturesque garden was the place where Bai Juyi once admired the blooming peach blossoms and composed poetry. Surrounded by colorful flowers, green trees, and tranquil scenery, Flower Path has become a symbol of the poetic beauty of Lushan Mountain.
At the center of the garden stands a stone tablet pavilion engraved with the characters “Hua Jing” (Flower Path). The inscription is traditionally believed to be related to Bai Juyi’s calligraphy, adding historical and cultural charm to the site.
Inspired by Bai Juyi’s Famous Poem
Flower Path is closely associated with Bai Juyi’s timeless poem “Peach Blossoms at Dalin Temple” (《大林寺桃花》), one of his most famous works describing the unique scenery of Lushan.
The poem includes the famous lines:
“The fragrance of flowers has faded away in the human world of April, yet peach blossoms are still blooming among the mountains.”
These verses perfectly capture the special climate and natural beauty of Lushan, where flowers bloom later than in the lowlands due to the mountain’s elevation.
