Zhenyuan Ancient City
Zhenyuan Ancient City is located in Zhenyuan County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province. Zhenyuan Old Town covers an area of 3.1 square kilometers, Wuyang river runs through the city in S shape from west to east, forming a unique style of "nine mountains holding one river, and one river holding two cities".
In Zhenyuan ancient city, the north bank of the Wuyang River is Weicheng, meaning defending old city, the south bank is Fucheng, meaning official city, looking from far view it is just like a Tai Chi map. The ancient city has eight guild halls, four holes, eight shrines, nine temples, twelve docks, the ancient city wall, Wu Wang cave, four palaces, ancient Wells, ancient opera houses and other places of interest nearly 200. The main historical sites include Qinglong Cave, Zhongyuan Zen Temple, Wanshou Palace, Zhusheng Bridge, Incense burning Rock, Tianhou Palace, Yuwei ancient city wall, Wu Cave, four palaces (Oriental War Temple), Heping Village, Zhou Dawen's former residence, temples, nunneries, ancestral halls, pavilions, palaces, ancient dwellings, ancient alleys, ancient docks and so on. Zhenyuan ancient city is a "maze of traditional culture" completely integrated by places of interest. Zhusheng Bridge, formerly known as Wuxi Bridge, was renamed "Zhusheng Bridge" in order to celebrate the birthday of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. Zhusheng Bridge starts from Dongxia Street in the east and reaches Shuncheng Street in the west; 135 meters long,
8.5 meters wide and 14 meters high, across the Yanghe River, it is an important passage on the ancient post road in Yunnan and Guizhou, and the only way of the Hunan and Guizhou Road.
The Bridge was built in the 21st year of Hongwu (1388 A.D ). Zhusheng Bridge was the only way for students from Yunnan and Guizhou to enter Beijing to take the imperial civil exam. On the bridge, there was a three-story green tube tile roof pavilion, called "Kuixing Pavilion", which means that the students have won the top prize at one stroke. The local people also call it "Zhuangyuan Building".

Qinglong, means green dragon, and Qinglong Cave ancient building group, located in the east end of Zhenyuan county. It was first built in the twenty-first year of Hongwu
of the Ming Dynasty (1388 A.D). On January 13,1988, Qinglongdong was announced by The State Council as the third batch of national key cultural relics protection units. In July 2004, UNESCO identified Qinglong Cave ancient architecture group as the "world sticking cliff ancient architecture garden". The architectural complex is near the Wuyang he River, most of the buildings are distributed on the cliff wall 300 meters long and 80 meters high, with the river in the front and the mountain behind, with the characteristics of mountain architecture. The whole building complex is composed of eight parts: Zhusheng Bridge, Zhongyuan Temple, Wanshou Palace, Qinglong Cave, Ziyang Academy, Xianglu Rock, Linggong Temple and Dongshan Temple, with a size of 36 single buildings.
Tianhou Palace
Tianhou Palace, also known as Fujian Association Hall, is located in Minzhu Street, Yangcheng Town. It was built in the Qing Dynasty to commemorate the Mazu of the sea god and the Hall of Fujian Township Association.
Zou Sizhong Memorial
Zou Sizhong Memorial, built in the 17th year of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1891), is located on the north side of Shuncheng Street, facing south, composed of the east and west houses, covering an area of about 800 square meters, with a construction area of more than 480 square meters. The temple is a memorial ancestral hall built by Zou Sizhong, who died in the late Qing Dynasty. In 2011, it was renamed as the Zhenyuan Historical and Cultural Exhibition Museum .
Ancient Alleys and streets
The ancient alleys and streets is the heart of the ancient city of Zhenyuan. The ancient alley is long, narrow and deep, and its structure is complex, so there is a saying of "six archways and ten lanes". There are seven existing ones: Shizfang Lane, Sifang Jing Lane, Fuxing Lane, Renshou Lane, Chongzikou Lane, Migou Lane and Chenjiajing Lane. Seven roadways are built on the Shiping Mountain near the river, winding with the mountain, layer upon layer.

In the Ming Dynasty, as an important fortification, Fucheng wall played a vital role in defending the town away.
