Mr Al-Jayyoussi has planed for the charity tour to China by motorbike for long time, and eventually he choosed China Exploration as his operator in China.
It was really an unforgetable tour for them really. They encountered some difficulties, but collected more sweet memories. They have traveled through the most beautiful landscape of China, also experienced the hospitalities of Chinese. Innitially he planed to cross the boarder in mid July and rode his beloved BMW to Everest Base, but he was delayed a few days in road, and finally crossed the China boarder on July 30th. And when he was on the road to China from Dubai, the tour policies of Tibet changed, so they had to skip the trip to Everest in order to enter China and other part of Tibet.
Our guide Gorge and driver Mr Lou met them at China boarder of Erlianhaote on July 30th in time with all the documents ready. After a complicated works in boarder police checking, Custom checking, and they start their adventure! There were so many wonderful things to see in China!
Wissam was a very good motorbiking rider, Gorana and him rode the motorbike so quickly that most of the time Gorge and Lou could hardly catch up with them. During his riding tour in Chengdu, Jason, the crew of China Exploration, had planed to follow him for houndres of miles by his 4WD X- trail, but within 40 kilometers, Jason lost his target too!
Travel was not always smoothly, Wissam and Gorana had an small accident in Daowu county, in east of Tibetan plateau. A backing truck hit down Wissam’s motorbike when they were waiting for pass in a bridge! Thanks for God, nobody was injuried, but the headlight of motorbike was broken. It was normally impossible for travellers to get any compensation from local Tibetan when anything happened. The driver just shrugged his should and said:” Sorry, I don’t have any money, but I can give you my truck, it is worth $CNY 240,000.00, and you still need to return me CNY230,000.00 deduct your headlight! .” Looking at the shabby truck worth no more than CNY50,000, smart Wissam eventually asked back most of the compensation from the Tibetan driver. It was not enough, but thought it was a tour of Charity.
