China National Highway 318 (G318) is the country's longest national highway, stretching 
5,476 km from People's Square in Shanghai to the Friendship Bridge at Zhangmu on the China–Nepal border in Tibet.
Running from east to west, the highway crosses eight provincial-level regions: Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Hubei, Chongqing, Sichuan, and Tibet. It is widely regarded as one of the world's greatest overland driving routes.
The most spectacular section extends from Kangding in Sichuan to Tingri in Tibet, where travelers are rewarded with breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains, vast grasslands, turquoise lakes, deep valleys, and the magnificent Tibetan Plateau.
