Itinerary:

D1 Chengdu / Jiuzhaigou / Langmusi
Your Chengdu tour starts from Chengdu today, the guide from China Tour Special will send you to Shuangliu airport, and then you will fly to Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong Airport, meet another guide there. It is a flight of 50 minutes only, but you will move from sea level 500 meters of Chengdu to 3448 meters of Huanglong airport, don’t worry for it, most of the people can be acclimated very quickly, and if you do feel difficult, you can buy some oxygen to deal with.
Then, drive from Jiuzhaigou to Langmusi. There won’t be any activities today for you need time to fit for local environment. Also, you need to prepare for the horse riding journey for the next five days. However, you still can view the beautiful grassland scenery alone the way from Jiuzhaigou to Langmusi.

D2 Langmusi / White Dragon River / Mt. Huagai / Ocean of Flowers
We set out from Langmusi at 10 a.m. along the White Dragon River and have lunch at its spring. After lunch we continue trekking and by 4 pm, reach a vast grassland where sheep and yaks graze. On this night, we will sleep in a yak hair tent with local people.
After arriving at camp, we take the halter and saddle off the horses and learn how to make a fire with yak dung as well as how to use a special Tibetan herding tool called a “pe.” We join our host family in driving the animals home and tying the yaks up for the night.

From late April to early June, we will spend the night at the source area of The White Dragon River.
From the middle June to late August, we will sleep at the foot of Mt. Huagai.
From early September to early November, we will sleep in The Ocean of Flowers.

D3 White Dragon River / Mt. Huagai / The Ocean of Flowers / Red Stone Forest / winter house 1
In early morning, the nomads are busy with their routine: milking, collecting yak dung, churning butter, etc. If you like you can experience and partake in these activities for yourself.

From late April to early June, today we will ride to the 'Ocean of Flower'. We will then take lunch at the 'Red Stone Forest' and ride further to the winter house to stay overnight. Today we will ride for approximately 4.5 hours.
From the middle June to late August, we will climb to the top of the 'Mt. Huagai' by foot in the morning then climb down the mountain for lunch. We will ride for around 2 hours to the 'Ocean of Flower' in the afternoon. We will stay at the 'Red Stone Forest' for the night.
From early September to early November, we will ride to the Mt. Huagai from the Ocean of Flower especially to climb this mountain, and return to the Ocean of Flower for the night.

D4 grassland / winter house 2 / Ga Lake
On this day we will spend a long time riding on the grassland, approximately 4.5 hours. Finally, we will arrive at the winter house, which is very near the 'Ga Lake'. We will stay in this winter house for the night and behind this house, there is a small hill from there you can see the sun setting over the lake.

D5 Ga Lake / marsh / winter house 2
Today is a hiking and relaxation day. We will walk along the lake so bring binoculars with you to see many kinds of birds, small animals and wildlife - especial the black-necked crane. Ga Lake is a very important area for the black-necked crane as there this is an important breeding patch in the Summer. On the east side of the lake it is marsh. We can have a short walk on its edge but to remain safe, it is not permitted to go to the centre of the marsh. We will stay in the same house as the day before. On this day there is no riding, because after the three day's journey the horses must take rest.

D6 winter house 2 / Langmusi / Jiuzhaigou
On this morning, we will ride only around half an hour to the nearest road by horse, where a car will bring us back to Langmusi. We will return to Langmusi around midday. Then, head for Zhangza town close to Jiuzhaigou valley. It is about 6 hour’s driving, but you can enjoy the exotic view of Tibetan villages and nature on route if you are not tired enough for a nap in the car.
