Originally built during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644), Jinshanling was an important military defense line protecting northern China. The hiking route is approximately 10 km round trip and takes about 4 hours. Along the way, you will pass through numerous watchtowers, each featuring unique architectural designs and different landscapes.
Compared with more popular sections near Beijing, Jinshanling Great Wall is less crowded and offers a more authentic hiking experience. The combination of ancient stone walls, rolling mountains, and open landscapes makes it one of the best places to appreciate the beauty and history of the Great Wall.
