Enshi Grand Canyon GEO Park
Enshi Grand Canyon is one of China’s most breathtaking natural wonders, located in Tunbao Township, Enshi City, within the Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Hubei Province. Situated at the junctionEnshi Grand Canyon in Hubei Province of Hubei, Chongqing, and Sichuan, the canyon lies approximately 49 kilometers from downtown Enshi and 39 kilometers from Lichuan.
Stretching 108 kilometers in length and covering an area of approximately 300 square kilometers, Enshi Grand Canyon is renowned for its dramatic karst landscapes, towering cliffs, deep gorges, waterfalls, forests, and unique geological formations. It forms part of the Hubei Enshi Tenglong Cave Grand Canyon UNESCO Global Geopark, making it one of the premier natural attractions in central China.

Discover One of China’s Greatest Karst Landscapes
Often referred to as the “Grand Canyon of Central China,” Enshi Grand Canyon showcases an extraordinary combination of towering sandstone peaks, vertical cliffs, natural stone pillars, underground rivers, caves, waterfalls, and pristine forests.
The scenic area is divided into two major sections:
* Qixingzhai Scenic Area
* Yunlong Ground Fissure Scenic Area
Visitors can also enjoy the spectacular live outdoor performance Dragon Boat Tune, which showcases the rich traditions and folk culture of the Tujia ethnic people.

Qixingzhai Scenic Area
Qixingzhai is the most famous section of Enshi Grand Canyon and features many of the area’s iconic geological landmarks.

Yizhuxiang (Incense Stick Peak)
The symbol of Enshi Grand Canyon, Yizhuxiang, is an extraordinary natural stone pillar rising more than 150 meters into the sky while measuring only about 4 meters across at its narrowest point. Having withstood thousands of years of wind and rain, it is regarded as one of the world’s most remarkable freestanding rock columns.
Nearby stand the Deanport Twin Peaks, officially named in 2012, adding another impressive highlight to the canyon’s dramatic skyline.

Cliff Plank Road
One of the canyon’s most exciting experiences is walking along the famous Cliff Plank Road, a spectacular pathway built into the side of towering cliffs at an altitude of over 1,700 meters.
Stretching approximately 488 meters, the walkway offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Wuling Mountains, deep valleys, and dramatic rock formations, making it one of the most popular photography locations in the scenic area.

Bowing Pine
The famous Bowing Pine is one of the Five Wonders of Enshi Grand Canyon. Growing from the edge of a steep cliff, the ancient pine naturally leans forward as if greeting every visitor. It has become a symbol of the warm hospitality of the local Tujia and Miao ethnic communities.

Visitors can follow scenic walking trails through the gorge while enjoying spectacular waterfalls, crystal-clear streams, dramatic rock walls, and dense subtropical forests. The combination of geology, ecology, and natural scenery makes Yunlong Ground Fissure one of the highlights of any visit to Enshi Grand Canyon.
