Three Gorges and Mt.Wudangshan are both famous cultural and natural sites in China.
Three Gores in Yangtze river is the spiritual mother of Chinese people, civilization developed mostly along Yangtze River drainage, and cultural works about the Three Gorges from Chongqing to Yichang has been produced for thousands of years. And Wudangshan Mountain is one of the sacred Taoism origins and Taiji Kungfu in China.
In this hiking trip, you will make a mild hiking in both destination to explore their glorious culture as well as enjoy their extremely beauty in nature.
Itinerary:
D1. Arrive in Chongqing
Arrive in Chongqing city at noon, in the afternoon you will make a city walking tour
in the fashionable Chongqing city, such as Liziba Metro Station, Hongyadong, Great Hall, Cizikou old Town, etc. Walking and Metro will be your main way of transportation, also the best way to explore the city.
D2 Chongqing / Wushan
In the morning you will continue your city tour in Chongqing for the unfinished last day.
In the afternoon you will take bullet train to Wushan county, enjoy the mountain and gorges en route.
Arrive in Wushan city just standing at the bank of Yangtze river in the afternoon. And then you will head to the mountain of Longji Dragon Spine Trail for a short hiking, which is a very good place to have a bird’s eye view of the Yangtze river from the high mountain ridge.
D3 Wushan / Sanxiarenjia
In the morning you will head to the Shenlv Sky Road scenery, where you will make a short hiking tour on the mountain trail and enjoy Wu Gorge and Yangtze river from mountain. The famous Goddess Peak is just standing in the great mountain of other side of river.
In the afternoon you will head to Sanyarenjia by 3 hours’ driving on express way. You will stay in some small hotel here. It is amazing experience to have a night just on the bank of Yangtze river as well as enjoy the big mountain and gorges around. .
D4 Sanxiarenjia / Yichang
Sanxiarenjia try to show tourist the real life of former people living along Yangtze river. So this morning you will make a mild hiking tour in beautiful Sanxiarenjia Tribe scenery, where you will hike along the mountain trail along Yangtze river and Gorges, also encounter some beautiful view or shows arranged by local scenic management.
In the afternoon you will take local boat down the Yangtze river to Yichang city. You will enjoy the beautiful peaks and gorges of Xiling Gorge, which is the third gorge of Three Gorges. Also drop a tour in the Three Gorge Dam.
Night in local hotel.
D5 Yichang /Dangyang / Mt. Wudangshan
In the morning you will head to Yuquan temple in Dangyang city, where you will walk around in the ancient beautiful Yuquan Temple and mountain, also hear the interesting story of Three Kingdoms, especially about Guanyu.
In the afternoon you will continue the overland tours to Wudangshan, and will arrive at Mt. Wudangshan in the late afternoon. Night in local hotel.
D6 Mt. Wudangshan Hiking Tour
In the morning you will start your Wudangshan hiking. Mt. Wudangshan is the sacred place of Chinese Taoism and Taiji Kungfu, but it is also a huge mountain, so you only hike the most important and beautiful section from Nanyan to Golden summit.Enjoy the beautiful mountain as well as visit the ancient Taoism temple.
Down the mountain in the afternoon. Night in local hotel.
D7 WudangShan Departure
In the morning you will leave Wudangshan to other destinations as Wuhan, Xi’an, Chongqing by train or flight. End of your tour.
