Bangong Lake
Bangong Lake (Ladakh: Pangong Tso), also known as Tsomo Nganglha Ringpo in
Tibetan, which means "long neck swan" in Tibetan, is located 12 km west of Rutog County, Nagri Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region. Bangong Lake is 135 km away from Gar Shiquanhe Town, where the Nagri area is located. It is a natural lake ecological scenic spot. Bangong Lake is east-west with an elevation of 4240 meters and the whole area is 604 square kilometers, including China occupied 68.5% of 413 square Kms, and Indian Kashmir occupied 31.5% 191 square kilometers . It is about 150 kilometers long from east to west, with an average width of about 4 kilometers from north to south. The narrowest point is only 5 meters, the average water depth is 5 meters, and the maximum water depth is 41 meters.
On the other side, Bangong Lake is a lake with different salt content in the water from east to west, that is, the eastern lake in China control is freshwater lake, the central lake is brackish lake, and the western lake in India control is saltwater lake. The long and narrow lake body of Pangong
Lake creates a unique landscape effect. The two largest tributaries into Pangong Lake, Maga Zangbo and Doraemon, are located in the eastern section of the lake.
