Qiandaohu Lake National Forest Park
Qiandaohu Lake, means thousands of islands, former Xin 'an River Reservoir, is located in Chun' an County, 
Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, 100 kilometers away from Hangzhou and Huangshan Mountain from east to west. It is an artificial lake built on the upper reaches of the Xin 'an River for the construction of the Xin' an River Hydro-power Station.
When the Xin 'an River reservoir is completed, the dam blocks the upper reaches of the Xin' an River into a huge lake. The mountains flooded into the lake to become large and small islands, a total of 1078, so the name "Qiandao Lake".
In 1955, the construction of the Xin'anjiang Reservoir began. In 1959, the Xin'an River hydro-power Station was closed and stored in water. In 1960, the Xin'anjiang Reservoir was completed. On December 15,1984, it was officially named " Qiandaohu Lake". Qiandao Lake is one of the "three major Thousand Island Lake in the world". The dam of Qiandao Lake reservoir is 105 meters high and 462 meters long; the reservoir is about 150 kilometers long, the widest point is over 10 kilometers; the deepest depth is 100 meters, and the average depth is 30.44 meters. Under normal water level, the area is about 580 square kilometers, and the water storage can reach 17.8 billion cubic meters. At the highest water level, there are 1078 land bridge islands greater than 0.25 square kilometers, and mainly small islands below 2 square kilometers, with a total area of 409 square kilometers.
In 2010, the Qiandao Lake Scenic Area where Qiandao Lake is located was announced as a national
AAAAA level tourist attraction by the National Tourism Administration.
After development and construction, Zhejiang Qiandao Lake National Forest Park has gradually formed six scenic spots with high grade, distinctive characteristics and rich contents, including Xishan, Pingfeng, Meifeng, Longshan, animal series and Shilin. In 2003, another ecological tourist attraction Qiandao Lake Forest oxygen bar was launched.
