Niubeishan Mountain
Niubeishan Mountain belong to Erlang shan Mountain branch, located in the junction of Luding County and Yingjing County, and its top reached at 3666 meters above sea level. Because the top of the cliff has a boulder protruding like a cow's head, the slender ridge looks like a cow's back, so got its name. Niubei means the back of bull in Chinese. Niubei shan Mountain is surrounded by mountains and protruding in the middle.
Niubeishan Mountain is also known as the Big Mine mountain and Bison Mountain. Bison Mountain belongs to the south extension of Erlang shan Mountain, including Bison Mountain (3666 meters above sea level), Big Bison Mountain (3409 meters above sea level), Bald Mountain (3478 meters above sea level), Machang Liang (3499 meters above sea level), Niangniang shan Mountain, big mine and other major peaks.
In 2009, Niubeishan Mountain won the attention of National Geographic Magazine, and got its reputation of "360-degree all-round view" and "the largest viewing platform in China". Niubei shan Mountain now is very famous among outdoor sports, hiking, mountaineering and photography enthusiasts at home and abroad. It is also a place for astronomy enthusiasts to pursue the stars.

Niubeishan Town is a subtropical monsoon climate, coupled with mountain regulation, forming a warm and suitable regional microclimate with four distinct seasons. There is no severe cold in winter or summer. The average annual temperature is 15.4℃, the annual rainfall is 1149.3 mm, and the forest coverage rate is 80.3%.

Photography strategy
On the Niubeishan mountain shooting, need to prepare a long telephoto lens. Due west of Niubei Mountain is Gongga Mountain, which can be shot by telephoto. In many cases, there are clouds on the main peak of Gongga. Due to the high wind on the mountain and the weak light in the morning and evening, in order to ensure the quality of the picture, it is recommended to carry a tripod and add a shutter line.
