Yungang Grotto One-day Tour
The Yungang Grottos, one of the three leading grottoes in China, is located in the south of Wuzhou Mountain,at the north bank of Ten-mile River, about sixteen kilometers west of Datong, Shanxi Province. There are 254 grottos with 45 major grottos and 51000 stone sculptures. Representing the highest level of world carving art in the fifth century, the Yungang Grottos is considered the peak of the Chinese Buddhism art work. It was chosen by the State Council to be one of the first batches of Chinese key cultural relic preservation units in March, 1961. In December, 2001, the Yungang Grottos was listed in "World Culture Inheritance List” by UNESCO and became the nation’s first batch of tourist areas at 5A level in May, 2007.

Pick up from hotel,visit the Yungang Grottoes. The three main sites in China that are famous for their stone sculpture are Dunhuang, Longmen and Yungang. Among these, the Yungang grottoes are considered first among equals, for their tremendous size, ancient history, and relatively complete state of preservation.
After lunch,go on to visit the Xuankong Hanging Temple. Xuangkong in Chinese means hanging in the air. It was elected as one of the world unstable architectures in Time. Besides, it is the only temple mixing of buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism existing now.
