Arrive in Wuhan, meet with the guide at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport or Wuhan railway station, and then start your full-day classic tour of Wuhan. Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei Province, is known as “the thoroughfare of nine provinces” and a famous historical and cultural city in China. As the core birthplace of Chu culture, it boasts a long history of more than 3,500 years, numerous precious historical relics, and beautiful natural scenery, perfectly blending the charm of ancient Chu culture with the vitality of a modern central China metropolis.
In the morning, you will visit Yellow Crane Tower, the iconic landmark of Wuhan and one of the three most famous ancient towers in the south of the Yangtze River, with a history of more than 1,700 years. The tower gained worldwide fame through the classic poem The Yellow Crane Tower written by the Tang Dynasty poet Cui Hao, and has been praised by countless poets and scholars throughout Chinese history. You will visit the main tower of Yellow Crane Tower, Baiyun Pavilion, Yue Fei Square, the Millennium Auspicious Bell, and other scenic spots in the park. Ascending to the top of the tower, you can overlook the magnificent view of the surging Yangtze River, the grand Yangtze River Bridge, and the whole cityscape of Wuhan’s three towns.
At noon, you will enjoy an authentic Wuhan-style lunch at a local time-honored restaurant near the Yellow Crane Tower, tasting classic local specialties such as hot dry noodles, Wuchang fish, spicy duck neck, and Mianyang three steamed dishes.
In the afternoon, your first stop is Hubei Provincial Museum, the largest and most comprehensive museum in Hubei Province, a national first-class museum with a collection of more than 240,000 precious cultural relics. It is the best place to learn about the long history and profound Chu culture of Hubei. You will visit the core exhibition halls of the museum, and admire the national treasure-level cultural relics including the Marquis Yi of Zeng Bianzhong (a giant set of bronze chimes with a history of more than 2,400 years), the Sword of Goujian, King of Yue, the Qin Bamboo Slips from Shuihudi of Yunmeng, and the bronze chariots and horses of the Warring States Period. The professional guide will give you a detailed explanation of the history and stories behind each precious cultural relic.
After the museum tour, you will head to East Lake Tingtao Scenic Area, the core scenic spot of East Lake, which is the largest urban lake in China and a national 5A-level tourist attraction. The scenic area is located in the urban area of Wuhan, with convenient transportation and beautiful natural scenery. You will visit the classic scenic spots in the area including Xingyin Pavilion, Qu Yuan Memorial Hall, Changtian Tower, and the Lakeside Plank Road. You can take a leisurely walk along the lake shore, admire the vast lake view and lush vegetation, listen to the guide introduce the history and culture of East Lake, and enjoy the peaceful and comfortable natural atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
