D1 Arrive in Xi’an
Arrive in the start of Silk Road， Xi’an at noon, meet with your guide and driver
and transfer to the city.
In the afternoon you will make a hiking in ancient City wall. The City Wall of Xi’an is the best reserved city wall in China now, also separate the ancient city and modern city.
In the late afternoon you will walk around the ancient Wild Goose Tower, where the Monk Tang translated the Buddhism Scripture here. And then the night come to Ever Bright City, which is the hottest night spots in Xi’an, which will bring you back to the ancient glorious Tang dynasty 1000 years ago.
D2 Xi’an / Zhangye
In the morning you will head to Terra Cotta Museum to explore the ancient warriors of Qing dynasty 2000 years ago. It is amazing to enjoy so many huge army underground.
In the afternoon you will make an overland tours by taking 6 hours’ bullet train to Zhangye. You will enjoy the sparse landscape of Hexi Corridor on the train. Arrive in Zhangye city in the late afternoon, and then meet with your guide and driver there and then transfer to hotel for night.
D3 Zhangye Cultural Tour
In the morning, drop a visit in Giant Buddha Temple, which used to be the largest Buddhism temple in Xixia Empire. And you will head to Mati temple and then hike around the Horse Hoof Grotto to explore the glorious Buddhism culture of ancient Silk road.
In the late afternoon you will head to Qicaidanxia, means Seven Color Danxia GEO park, where you will hike in the beautiful red Danxia. And the dawn is the most beautiful here.
Return Zhangye city in the late afternoon. Night in local hotel
D4 Zhangye GEO Danxia Park Tour
In the morning you will head to Pingshanhu Gorge, which is a newly discovered Danxia Gorge, hiking in the beautiful gorge.
In the afternoon you will head to Bingou Ice Valley Danxia, which is a newly discovered small GEO park with less tourist but beautiful landscape. You will hike around in side.
Return Zhangye city for night.
D5 Zhangeye / Jiayuguan
In the morning you will continue your overland tour of Silk Road by driving to Jiayuguan in about 3 hours, continue to enjoy the ruin of great wall and Gebi desert en route. And arrive in another important station of Silk Road, Jiayuguan city, which used to be the border pass of China with West world 1000 years ago.
And in the afternoon you will head to the ruin of Great Wall in Jiayuguan, which is called the First Mound of Great Wall. And then you will ascend the Jiayuguan Great Wall Gate to have a panorama view of West world.
Night in Jiayuguan city.
D6 Jiayuguan / Dunhuang
In the morning you will continue 4 hours’ overland tours of Silk Road to Dunhuang, enjoy the sparse Gebi desert, Oasis, and villages en route.
Arrive in Dunhuang in the afternoon, and then you will make a hiking in desert firstly. Mingshashan Hill is the most famous in Dunhuang, you will hike or ride camel on the desert hill. And the Crescent Moon Lake is also a beautiful view here.
In the evening you will walk around in Shazhou Night Market, where is a magic and crowded market full of everything in Silk road. Also delicious food can be found here too!
D7 Dunhuang Departure
Mogao Cave is the highlight of Silk Road, also the most important cultural site in Dunhuang. You will visit the Mogao Cave Museum in the morning, explore the magic Grottoes and Buddhism fresco in these ancient caves.
In the afternoon you will fly to other city as Xi’an, Chengdu, Beijing, etc. End of your tour
