Day 01 Entry Beijing

Our guide will hold a welcome sign to meet you at the Beijing Capital Airport according to your international (internal) flight schedule. Transfer you to the 4-star hotel for 3 nights stay and please relax for the rest of the day.

Day 02 Beijing (B,L,D)

Stroll along the famous Tiananmen Square - the largest square in the world, and reach the Forbidden City. A la carte lunch is served at a very nice restaurant to taste the authentic Chinese food. This afternoon, transfer to visit the Temple of Heaven.

Descriptions:
Tiananmen Square - The daily National Flag-raising Ceremony in the front of the Tiananmen Square assembles a large number of people as a must Beijing morning travel. At the beginning of the ceremony, the national flag guards start from the Tiananmen Tower and march across the Chang'an Avenue to the Tiananmen Square. The national flag is hoisted when the sun is about to rise from the horizon and reaches the top of flag staff when the sun ascending over the horizon. The whole process just takes 2 minutes and 7 seconds.

Forbidden City - The Forbidden City is the fruit of working people's wisdom, blood and sweat. About one hundred thousand craftsmen and one million laborers took up the arduous construction task. As for the building materials, a great deal of wood were demanded, which were mainly collected from Sichuan, Guangxi, Guangdong, Yunnan and Guizhou provinces. Also it is very hard to collect the stones used for construction. The stones were mainly from the suburbs of Beijing and weighed from several tons to several hundreds of tons.


Day 03 Beijing (B,L,D)

Morning excursion transfers you to climb the China Great Wall - Badaling section. A spicy Sichuan cuisine lunch is served at a notable restaurant to recruit your physical energy. This afternoon, stroll across the Sacred Path and reach the Ming Tomb. On the way back to downtown, drive by the Bird's Nest (Olympic National Stadium). You will see its appearance at a distance.

Descriptions:
Great Wall - The earliest records on the Great Wall show that the technique of wall-building has been used as early as in the 7th to the 3rd century BC, just in the rough-and-tumble Spring and Autumn Period. During that era, the states existing side by side in central China constructed high walls to defend their own frontiers successively. The total length of those walls has already over ten thousand li (a Chinese measurement, one li equal to 0.5 kilometers), but they were separated from each other.

Ming Tomb - In the Ming Dynasty, there are sixteen emperors in all. However, only thirteen of them were entombed in the Ming Tombs. Where were the rest of emperors buried? Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang, the founder of the Ming Dynasty, was buried in Mingxiaoling Mausoleum on the Zhongshan Mountain in Nanjing. The second emperor Zhu Yunwen was missing in the coup plotted by his uncle Zhu Di. So there was no tomb for him. The seventh emperor Zhu Qiyu was murdered by his brother. After his brother became the emperor, Zhu Qiyu was buried as a prince on the Yuquan Mountain in Beijing.

Day 04 Beijing - Chengde (B,L,D)

After breakfast, ride a soft seat train to Chengde. TCG guide will wait for you at the railway station ahead of the train schedule and transfer you to the 4-star hotel for 1 night stay. Visit Chengde Mountain Resort the rest of the day.

Descriptions:
Chengde Mountain Resort - Originally built in 1703, the Mountain Resort is the exclusive place where Qing emperors spent summer. Lying to the north of the central area in Chengde, it is 230 kilometers (143 miles) away from Beijing. Consisting of the imperial palaces, garden and the grand temple complexes, the resort was built for 89 years, through the reign of Emperor Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong. According to the layout of the constructions, the resort was divided into two main parts, the Palace Area and the Garden Scenery Area.

Day 05 Chengde - Beijing (B,L,D)

Today the journey takes you to to the Eight Outer Temples of the Puning and the Putuozongcheng. Afterwards ride a soft seat train back to Beijing and be transferred to the hotel.

Descriptions:
The Eight Outer Temples - Situated to the east and north of the Chengde Mountain Resort, the Eight Outer Temples were constructed under the reign of Emperor Kangxi and Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Lying outside the Gubeikou Pass, the eight temples were the center of the Lamaism of the Qing Dynasty. That was why they were named the Eight Outer Temples. The spectacular complexes are a combination of architectural styles of Han, Mongolia and Tibet. In 1994, it was listed as one of the World Cultural Heritages.

Day 06 Beijing Exit

Bid farewell to the city after having a stay at the Summer Palace. Private transfer takes you to the airport and your pleasant China tour ends here.

Summer Palace - Originally built in the Jin Dynasty (1115-1234), the Summer Palace is situated at the foot of the West Hill. Its former name was Qingyi Garden which means the Garden of Clear Ripples. Along with the Jingyi Garden, Jingming Garden, Changchun Garden and the Yuanmingyuan Garden, the Summer Palace was one of the 'Five Gardens' on the West Hill. Occupying an area of 716.6 acres, the Summer Palace is composed of four scenic areas, namely the East Palace Gate Area, the Front Hill Area, the Rear Hill and Back Lake Area and the Front Lake Area.
