The 6th Basum Co Lake Gongbo Folk Culture Festival is expected to be held in Conggo Muba tourist town of Gongbo Gyamda County in Nyingchi Prefecture from Aug. 27 to 29.

The festival will consist of trade fairs, cultural and art performances, sports events, evening bonfire party and many other activities with strong ethnic characteristics.

During the festival, the tourists can visit the famous Basum Co Lake, experience the local custom, and watch local hospitable people dressed in  costumes of their ethnic groups performing the Gongbo Dance.

Basum Co means "the lake under three rocks". The wide surface of the lake looks like a tranquil mirror with the clean and blue water. Surrounded by snowy mountains, which are covered with virgin forests, the lake is also known as "Three colored lake" with its picturesque natural beauties being reflected on it and its color changing with different seasons.

Starting from Basum Co Lake, it is very convenient to go on an exploration tour in "Zhong Co", the so-called "Xanadu" by three-hour hiking or horse riding.

Meanwhile, 32 km away from Basum Co Lake, there is Xin Co, which deserves the fame of a paradise on earth.
