On Jan.26th, “2011 China New Year Painting Festival and the 10th Mianzhu New Year Painting Festival” opened in Mianzhu. The festival was titled “China New Year Painting Festival” for the fisrt time. Artists from four biggest new year painting groups, research specialists and scholars all joined the festival.

　　This year’s festival will last till the Lantern Festival, during the time 15 big events and over 40 activities will be held, including performances organized by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, large folk custom parade, exhibition of wood engraving new year paintings from all over the country, new year painting art forum, inviting foreign friends to have a Chinese new year in Mianzhu and so on. Activities like “beauty contest” for new year painting mascot, new year painting villages tour, firworks party will highlight interactivity with audiences.

　　Mianzhu New Year Painting Festival is fisrt held in 2000, putting up a great platform for the development of Mianzhu new year painting industry.
